Descendants of Thomas BURNETT of Preston under Scar

Notes

17. John BURNETT

John's first wife Margaret LUND apparently died as a result of complications during the birth of their first child; a son named John Lund BURNETT, who also died within days of his birth. Margaret was buried just four days before her infant son.

John married his second wife Mary METCALF three years later and they had eight children - all of whom survived to adulthood.

Jane JACKSON

Jane's husband Stephen BURNETT died in 1861 - they had been married eleven years and apparently had no surviving children. Jane was about ten years older than Stephen and may have been a widow when she married him – possibly with grown up children from her first marriage.
