91. William BURNETT
The baptism entry for William in the Ripon Primitive Methodist Circuit register, dated 20 Dec 1872, gives the residence of his parents at that time as Priest Lane, Ripon and the occupation of his father, John BURNETT, as "malster".
According to Rose BARNES (a descendant) William was born at Dishforth. However, his mother, Martha, was born at North Stainley, near Ripon, and it is likely that she took William 'home' to be baptised.
93. John BURNETT
John was baptised on the same day, probably at the same time, as his brother Edward. They were not twins - Edward was born in 1874 and was thus two years old at the time of the baptism.
1891 census: RG12/3516, folio 15, p24
Working as a farm servant for farmer Charles BURTON at Green Hammerton. Age 15, unmarried, born Dishforth[All information on John's children was provided by Rose BARNES in America.]
109. Fred BURNETT
1891 census: living with his parents and sister Maud at "Moor End", Bishop Monkton. Also in the household were two young step-children named Edward and Edith FULLER.
Information from Peter BURNETT, Fred's grandson:
Fred did not know that his mother had been married twice until fairly late in life, when he saw his own birth certificate for the first time - which indicated that his mother had been previously married.
Fred went to Canada in c1913 and worked on the railroad in Vancouver and Valdes Island. The intention was that his wife Alice and their children would follow later, but Alice changed her mind and Fred returned to England. The family lived in Burnley in Lancashire.
